Modernising Provider Services for Staffordshire County Council

From April 2013 to December 2014 I worked on assignment as Interim Modernisation Lead with Staffordshire County Council. The assignment required me to take forward the long term programme of modernising Learning Disability services and most of the remaining In House  provider services. From November to 2014 I was also asked to support the Operational Lead of Independent Futures the new all age Learning Disability Services.

In Adult Social Care this includes 16 cares homes, a supported living project and numerous day services with a budget of £22M employing 1300 staff across the whole county. The document attached summarises the progress made during my placement.

Key to the role was achieving political approval for the next steps and then supporting people using services, carers, staff and other stakeholders through the change journey. As part of the role I led complex high risk public consultations, created videos to support the consultations and wrote numerous Cabinet or Cabinet Member reports.
